The Horizon Story

Early on we learned some valuable lessons about working with foodservice professionals. They're passionate about the food. They love their equipment, but don't want to think about it too much. And they can get a little intense when their gear breaks down. What's a baker going to do when his oven goes on the fritz at four in the morning? Run to SA for muffins to sell?

From those early formative experiences we learned three critical business principles:

 

1. Sell extremely reliable foodservice equipment at a fair price

2. Be available when your customers need you—no matter how early or late

3. Rolling pins fly surprisingly straight despite their odd aerodynamics

We learned to do whatever it takes to make our customers happy. If that meant getting up in the middle of a dark, cold Minnesota January night to go fix a baker's proof box, we did it. True, those early years were largely an exercise in sleep deprivation and caffeine addiction—and our pants always smelled like bread—but we made it. To this day, we proudly offer 24/7/365 repairs to our customers.

 

We still serve bakers, but some thirty years later we've expanded to help foodservice professionals of all kinds across this great country of ours. Restaurants, grocery stores, delis, coffee shops, bars, hotels, casinos, hospitals, schools, universities—wherever great food is made.
