Meet Horizon's new controller

Welcome Andrew Youngquist to the Horizon Team.

Meet Horizon's new Controller, Andrew Youngquist, who joined the company in July 2019. Andrew will work alongside Horizon's leadership team and customer base.

“Andrew brings valuable outside perspective with his prior experience in retail, automation, and healthcare,” says Tracy Smith. “He previously held significant finance and HR roles where he drove growth.”

Andrew is fluent in Spanish and attended Brigham Young University, where he majored in business management with a minor in Spanish. Then he received his master of business administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Andrew lived in Santiago, Chile for two years as a volunteer engaged in teaching and service. He also lived in Utah, where he taught more than 300 students leadership classes. After, he provided Spanish translation services to national law enforcement agencies.

“I'm eager to bring a new lens to Horizon,” says Andrew. “Being new to the foodservice industry, I am drawn to the impact Horizon makes on its customers and in the industry.”

Before Horizon, Andrew served as director of human resources and controller at SavvySherpa, a healthcare investment firm acquired by UnitedHealth Group. There, he generated a 50 percent increase in full-time employees over a year and a half period. Prior to his role with SavvySherpa, Andrew served as a senior financial analyst with Emerson Process Management, supervising financials that generated more than $88 million in sales.Andrew also served as a business analyst at Macy's, rising to gross margin planning manager in the span of six years.
